With its 210 kilometers of skiable area and 128 slopes catering for all levels of ability, Grandvalira is the largest ski resort in the Pyrenees and the whole of Southern Europe. Furthermore, the territory also offers a wide range of restaurants and leisure activities and is regularly the stage for top-level international competitions. Grandvalira is located in the northern part of the Principality of Andorra, next to the border with France. The area covered by the resort forms part of two of the paris-hes in Andorra (Encamp and Canillo), and is made up of six sectors that joined together to make one territory 12 years ago: Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp. In 2016, Grandvalira will once again become a World Cup resort, hos-ting the feminine event of the Alpine Skiing World Cup on 27 and 28 February and the Speed Skiing World Cup held from 10 to 13 March. The Domain of the Snow maintains its firm commitment to off-piste skiing, holding the sixth edition of the inter-continental head-to-head known as the Skiers Cup, in which the best freeride and freestyle riders
in Europe and the United States will compete from the 30 of January to the 4 of February. The Freeride Junior World Championships also returns to Grandvalira for the second year running and will feature the best young riders on the international scene from the 28 to the 30 of January. Grandvalira will also host the Snowboard Total Fight on the 25 and 26 of March and the Ski Total Fight on the 1st and 2 of April.
